Summary:
It never snows in the Florida Keys, but as every Parrothead knows, Jimmy Buffett was born on Christmas Day 1946. His Caribbean folk tunes have always had a festive air to them, and his Coral Reefer Band tackle these holiday songs in their usual laidback style. Buffett turns out both traditional carols ("Jingle Bells" with a few tropical ad-libs) and his own myth-building originals ("A Sailor's Christmas," "Merry Christmas, Alabama"). This may not be the traditional Christmas fare of chestnuts roasting on an open fire, but for those who enjoy ocean breezes and "wasting away" to this most successful beach bum, Christmas Island is exactly what the cruise director ordered. --Rob O'Connor

My very most favorite Christmas CD. Very upbeat and lots of fun. Great for any Jimmy Buffett fan!

I bought this for my daughter who loved it! She wished that I had given it to her much earlier that Christmas Day.

It is a very good - not superb - Buffett CD. It definitely has some non-traditional Christmas songs to jam to - these give you a nice break from standard Christmas tunes and are really what makes Buffett, Buffett. The standard fare (e.g. Jingle Bells could have been left off IMO). Ho Ho Ho & a bottle of rum is a fun track and is where the CD shines. Is great to use as background music for parties, dinners, etc... The CD is defintely worth the cost! Enjoy

Although Jimmy Buffet is not the greatest singer, he does know how to pick, write, and "put across" hits. CHRISTMAS ISLAND is one of those RARE albums that a listener enjoys from note one to note last. It's also nice to hear a UNIQUE Christmas album for a change. I don't understand why this C.D. wasn't/isn't more popular than it is!

Being a Buffet fan I enjoy all the tracks on this CD. It has a nice island atmosphere to the songs and is well worth picking up!
